As we close in on prime renting season, you want your rental to shine. The first step in making it sparkle for prospective tenants is a thorough spring cleaning. In addition to a routine cleaning, this is an opportunity to take care of the less-frequent chores, such as oven cleaning and curtain dusting, and provide an overall spruce up to your rental.
Below, spring cleaning chores are divided by room:
Kitchen
Wipe down all shelves and drawers in the refrigerator and add fresh boxes of baking soda to the fridge and freezer. Clean out the microwave, oven and stove burners and wipe down the insides of all of the cabinets. Clean all the counters, as well as the sink and faucet. Mop the floors.
Bathrooms
In addition to mopping the floors and cleaning the counters, drawers and medicine cabinets, wash the mirrors and scrub the bathtub and/or shower tiles. Clean and disinfect the toilets and sinks.
Bedrooms/Offices/Living Room
Vacuum and/or mop all floors and dust all windowsills, blinds and/or curtains. You may also want to steam clean any carpet. Wipe down the shelves in all closets.
Patio/Garage
Pressure wash the floor and dust any shelves or cabinets.
